The ABUFEST Collective is partnered with the AlhanIslam Tutoring Centre to host "An Evening With The Arts: Poetry Writing Workshop" Our collaboration with the AlhanIslam Tutoring Centre entailed facilitating classes with guest tutors, where they shared expertise and insights into African literature with participants. The curriculum was meticulously designed by the collective and sought a modern approach to teaching the arts, emphasizing on personal discovery, hands-on writing, and individual feedback through detailed discussions. Our guest tutors Bash Amuneni and Alhanislam as well as our Creative Director Muhammad Gulani, committed to engaging participants for at least three hours per class, providing honest critique, guidance, and mentorship to enrich their creative journey. Through reading assignments, writing prompts, discussions, and guest tutor interactions, we aimed to inspire and nurture the talents of aspiring African writers while expanding the vibrant community of literary enthusiasts.
