Fati Abubakar
Fati Abubakar (www.fatiabubakar.com) is a documentary photographer, photojournalist, and public health worker from Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. With a BSc in Nursing, an MSc in Public Health and Health Promotion, and an MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts, she specializes in capturing the challenges and triumphs of cities and towns. Her work focuses on health issues, conflict, culture, urban poverty, and humanitarian concerns. Fati’s acclaimed project “Bits of Borno” has been featured in major outlets like The New York Times and BBC. She is the Founder and Creative Director of the Fati Abubakar Arts Foundation (FAAF), a nonprofit promoting visual arts education and digital literacy in Nigeria.
